About the Position – Mine Site Technical Translator Jobs in Lusaka

As a Mine Site Technical Translator, you will play a vital role in bridging communication between the Chinese technical team and local staff at the Rufunsa Mining Site. This full-time position requires residential commitment on-site to ensure smooth daily operations and effective cross-cultural collaboration. The company is hiring two translators to start immediately.

Key Responsibilities

On-site Interpretation: Facilitate clear communication during mining operations, equipment briefings, and safety instructions between Chinese engineers and Zambian personnel.
Document Translation: Accurately translate contracts, technical reports, mining documentation, and terminology from Chinese to English and vice versa.
Business Coordination: Act as a liaison with government authorities, local communities, suppliers, and business partners to support operational requirements.
Cross-cultural Support: Promote effective teamwork and understanding between Chinese and Zambian teams to maintain a harmonious working environment.

Candidate Requirements

Nationality: Must be a Zambian national.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in Chinese (minimum HSK level 4) and English with strong skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Experience: Previous experience in mining, engineering, or on-site translation is preferred; however, fresh graduates with excellent Chinese language skills are encouraged to apply.
Personal Attributes: Strong communication skills, responsiveness, responsibility, and the ability to adapt to the demands of mining site life and residential work.
Additional: Clean criminal record, good health, and a commitment to long-term stable employment.

Salary and Benefits

Monthly Salary: Between 18,000 and 25,000 ZMW net, commensurate with experience and competence.
