These roles will be based primarily at our Siavonga factory in Southern Zambia, with occasional duties at our Lusaka office. Mechanical Artisan (Fitter) Position Overview

The Mechanical Artisan (Fitter) will be responsible for maintaining and repairing feed mill machinery to ensure optimal production efficiency. This role demands hands-on expertise in mechanical maintenance and a proactive approach to equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, service, and repair machinery including conveyors, bucket elevators, mixers, pellet mills, hammer mills, augers, gearboxes, pumps, and compressors.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement timely repairs to reduce downtime.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance as per scheduled plans.
• Install, align, assemble, and commission mechanical equipment and components.
• Replace worn or defective parts such as bearings, shafts, chains, belts, seals, and couplings.
• Conduct thorough equipment inspections and report defects or risks.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and maintenance procedures accurately.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), and maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams to maximize plant availability.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Full Grade Twelve School Certificate (GCE).
• Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent mechanical trade qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance of fixed plant equipment.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Proficient in equipment alignment, fault diagnosis, mechanical assembly, and precision measurements.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills are advantageous.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Electrician Role at Kamimbi Aqua Feed Limited

We are also recruiting a skilled Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems critical to our production operations. This role requires expertise in industrial electrical maintenance and a commitment to safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, motors, control panels, MCCs, VFDs, and production equipment.
• Diagnose electrical faults and implement repairs to minimize production interruptions.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams effectively.
• Install and calibrate electrical instruments, sensors, and control devices.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and report equipment defects.
• Support equipment upgrades, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to enhance equipment reliability.
• Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies.

Qualifications and Key Attributes:

• Full Grade Twelve School Certificate (GCE).
• Diploma or Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
• Valid Electrician’s Licence or relevant trade certification.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical maintenance of fixed plant equipment.
• Strong knowledge of motors, starters, MCCs, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, and industrial automation systems.
• Membership with the Engineering Institute of Zambia is preferred.
• Familiarity with CMMS and project management software.
• Technical certifications in electrical engineering are advantageous.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
