China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Material Officer to join the TAZARA Project team based in Lusaka, Zambia. Position Overview: Material Officer Jobs in Lusaka

As a Material Officer with CCECC’s TAZARA Project team, you will play a critical role in managing all materials-related activities to support smooth project operations. This position requires a proactive individual who can effectively oversee procurement, inventory control, and coordination with local suppliers to ensure timely availability of essential materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily materials operations including receipt, storage, issuance, and tracking of engineering and operational supplies.
• Coordinate procurement and timely replenishment of project materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock audits.
• Liaise with local vendors and suppliers to secure quality materials at competitive rates.
• Ensure materials are delivered on schedule to support site activities without disruption.
• Prepare detailed inventory reports and support logistics for material movement as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Familiarity with engineering materials, construction supplies, and operational consumables.
• Strong knowledge of the local Zambian market and supplier landscape.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for accurate record keeping.
• Ability to work independently and maintain composure under pressure.
• Effective communication and coordination capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for reporting and correspondence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a valid driver’s licence and ability to drive is an advantage.
• Prior experience in construction, railway, or engineering projects will be highly regarded.
