The Manager, Supply Chain will oversee all aspects of the supply chain function to ensure continuous mining operations with optimal cost efficiency, quality, and service. This leadership role encompasses procurement, logistics, inventory management, supplier relationships, and contract administration while ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities for Manager Supply Chain Jobs in Solwezi

• Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental, and statutory regulations across supply chain operations.
• Develop and execute the site supply chain strategy aligned with business and operational goals.
• Lead procurement, logistics, expediting, inventory management, and contract administration teams.
• Manage supplier sourcing, tender evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards within delegated authority.
• Monitor supplier performance, enforce contract compliance, and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Coordinate logistics and freight forwarding for local and international procurement activities.
• Drive inventory optimization, critical spares planning, and ensure supply continuity.
• Coach and develop supply chain personnel to meet performance and succession planning objectives.
• Utilize ERP systems effectively (Pronto preferred) and report key supply chain performance indicators accurately.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or equivalent are advantageous.
• Membership in the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) is required.
• All academic qualifications must be certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
• At least 8 years’ experience in senior supply chain, procurement, or contract roles within mining, resources, or heavy industry sectors.
• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
• Strong understanding of mining supply chains, logistics, inventory control, and OEM environments.
• Experience operating in remote or complex operational settings.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Pronto preferred) and Microsoft Office applications.
