Position Overview for Manager Compliance Jobs in Lusaka

The Manager Compliance will lead the Compliance function, ensuring the company meets all regulatory obligations. This role involves developing and delivering training on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT), maintaining robust Customer Due Diligence (CDD) processes, and overseeing the monitoring and reporting of suspicious transactions to the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting AML/CFT training sessions for staff to enhance regulatory awareness.
  • Ensuring all Know Your Customer (KYC) and account transactions comply with regulatory CDD standards.
  • Monitoring currency transactions and identifying suspicious activities promptly.
  • Submitting timely currency transaction reports (CTRs) and suspicious transaction reports (STRs) to the FIC.
  • Developing and updating compliance policies and procedures to support departmental objectives.
  • Performing compliance audits and reviews across business units to ensure adherence to laws and regulations.
  • Collaborating with business units to resolve any non-compliance issues effectively.
  • Preparing comprehensive quarterly compliance reports for submission to the Board.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Ideal candidates must possess a minimum of a Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of three years’ experience in regulatory compliance within the financial sector is essential.

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Extensive knowledge of finance sector regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess risks, interpret data, and solve problems.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proven administrative and interpersonal skills with a diplomatic approach to sensitive matters.
  • Integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Confidence in preparing and presenting reports to senior management and board members.
