As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities within the hotel, ensuring that guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas are safe, functional, and aesthetically maintained. This role requires strong carpentry and joinery expertise combined with broad general maintenance knowledge to uphold the hotel’s high standards.

You will lead a maintenance team, coordinate with external contractors, and implement preventative maintenance strategies to minimise disruptions and maintain operational excellence. Your leadership will be vital in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and ensuring the hotel’s infrastructure remains in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate plans for major improvements and preventative maintenance to the Operations Manager.
  • Manage maintenance operations across all hotel areas, including guest rooms, public zones, and staff facilities.
  • Perform carpentry and joinery repairs on furniture, doors, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to avoid breakdowns.
  • Supervise, support, and schedule the maintenance team; coordinate external contractors as needed.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues to minimise guest inconvenience.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and local regulations.
  • Manage tools, materials, and inventory efficiently to support maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections to uphold property standards and identify potential issues early.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in hotel or property maintenance, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong carpentry and joinery skills are essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, basic electrical work, and painting.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively lead a sizeable maintenance team.
  • Sound understanding of workplace safety practices and regulations.
  • Reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented approach to work.
