Position Overview – Logistics Dispatcher Jobs in Kitwe

The successful candidate will be responsible for the real-time coordination of fleet activities, including assigning loads, monitoring GPS locations, adjusting estimated times of arrival (ETAs), and communicating updates to customers. You will play a vital role in resolving routing challenges and ensuring that every delivery runs smoothly and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Routing and Coordination: Assign loads to drivers, create optimized routes, adjust ETAs based on traffic or weather conditions, and re-route drivers as necessary.
• Driver and Customer Communication: Provide clear instructions to drivers, manage check-ins and location updates, and keep customers informed about delivery statuses and any delays.
• Monitoring and Issue Resolution: Track vehicle locations via GPS dashboards, respond promptly to breakdowns or route exceptions, coordinate backup support, and communicate incidents to management and customers.
• Documentation and Reporting: Record proof-of-delivery notes, log delays and exceptions, maintain load histories, and update internal systems and reports.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 to 4 years’ proven experience as a Logistics Dispatcher within a transport and logistics company.
• Grade 12 School Certificate and a Diploma in Information Technology or a relevant qualification.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.
• Excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and effective time-management skills.
