About the Lodge Manager Role in Mongu

As the Lodge Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of lodge operations, including front office, housekeeping, kitchen, bar, and maintenance. Your leadership will be vital in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction while managing bookings, guest services, and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise front office, housekeeping, kitchen, bar, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Manage guest bookings, check-ins/check-outs, and promptly resolve complaints to enhance customer service
  • Control stock levels, maintain supplier relationships, oversee budgeting, and prepare monthly reports
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and uphold exceptional cleanliness throughout the lodge
  • Coordinate staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated workforce
  • Maintain communication with regulatory bodies including ZRA, PACRA, local councils, the Tourism Board, and suppliers

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • At least three years of management experience in a lodge, hotel, guesthouse, or safari camp setting
  • Proven leadership skills with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office, Excel, and booking systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Zambian tourism regulations, licensing, and health standards
  • Integrity, discipline, and willingness to reside on-site in a remote area
  • Valid National Registration Card (NRC) and Police Clearance Certificate
  • A valid driver’s license is an advantage
