About the Loan Officer Role

As a Loan Officer, you will play a crucial role in driving loan product marketing, customer acquisition, and portfolio management. This position blends both office-based tasks and fieldwork, requiring engagement with vendors, traders, small business owners, and employed individuals within the Chainda catchment area. You will be responsible for processing loan applications, conducting business assessments, managing collections, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities for Loan Officer Jobs in Lusaka

• Promote and market Trefin Capital’s loan products while identifying and developing new customer relationships.
• Assist customers with loan applications, documentation, and explain terms and repayment obligations clearly.
• Conduct preliminary assessments of customers and businesses to verify information and evaluate repayment capacity.
• Evaluate collateral suitability, condition, and estimated value in line with company lending procedures, ensuring proper documentation.
• Maintain accurate loan and customer records, and monitor repayments with timely follow-ups on overdue accounts via calls and field visits.
• Support debt recovery and collection activities as needed.
• Engage in field marketing, customer visits, and business interactions within the branch’s service area.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports and utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Adhere strictly to Trefin Capital’s lending policies, KYC requirements, and confidentiality standards.
• Identify and report potential credit risks, fraud, or irregularities promptly.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Grade 12 Certificate is required.
• Certificate or Diploma in Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Economics, or related fields is advantageous.
• Experience in microfinance, lending, sales, marketing, collections, or customer service is preferred.
• Exposure to working with small businesses, vendors, or traders is beneficial.
• Knowledge of collateral assessment or valuation is a plus.
• Recent graduates or school leavers with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Candidates residing in Chainda, Avondale, or nearby locations may receive preference. The role requires a willingness to meet performance targets and interact with a diverse customer base.
