About the Role – Key Account Manager Jobs in Solwezi
As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding key customer relationships by aligning Sandvik’s value propositions with the strategic needs of customers. This position requires up to 50% travel to key mining sites across Zambia, ensuring close engagement with clients and internal teams.
You will mentor junior account managers and collaborate cross-functionally to grow Sandvik’s business in surface mining. The role balances managing customer relationships to increase market share and customer loyalty, alongside coordinating internal information flow to align strategies and maximize value delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed Account Business Plans that outline long-term growth strategies for each key account.
- Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders to secure value creation and business growth.
- Ensure customer stakeholders at all levels understand the benefits of Sandvik’s products and services as they relate to their operations.
- Monitor account performance against business plans and take decisive actions to address any deviations.
- Adhere strictly to Sandvik’s EHS Vision to achieve Zero Harm for employees, customers, suppliers, and the environment.
- Mentor junior Key Account Managers and support their development within the team.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or Management, or a minimum of 10 years’ experience in heavy equipment sales and aftersales support.
- Proven experience with surface mining and drilling equipment is essential.
- Strong business development and sales skills, with a track record of achieving measurable growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in English and basic computer literacy.
- Knowledge of Sandvik products and services is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within Zambia.
- Physical and medical capability to work safely in a mining environment.
- Must be a Zambian national or hold a permanent residence permit.
- Demonstrated initiative, goal orientation, and ability to work collaboratively to meet targets.
