Position Overview: Key Account Manager Jobs in Lusaka
The Key Account Manager will be the primary liaison between our corporate clients and internal teams, ensuring excellent service delivery and client satisfaction. You will mentor and oversee the Key Account Sales teams assigned to each major client, resolving issues promptly and fostering long-term partnerships that generate significant revenue for the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead new business pitches and manage the onboarding of new clients effectively.
- Drive sales growth through direct sales channels and expand existing client accounts.
- Prepare and submit tenders and proposals aligned with customer requirements.
- Serve as the main interface between clients and all company divisions.
- Forecast and set annual sales quotas for regions and territories, projecting sales volume and profitability.
- Manage and support the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to broaden the company’s customer base and market presence.
- Provide hands-on support to Sales Key Account Representatives in lead generation and deal closure.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with customers by understanding and addressing their evolving needs.
- Present sales, revenue, and expense reports along with realistic forecasts to senior management.
Required Competencies and Attributes
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated, ambitious, and accountable with a customer-centric approach.
- Strong business relationship building and networking abilities.
- Proven negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with executive-level teams (Exco).
- Capable of managing multiple client accounts simultaneously with attention to detail.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related commercial field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Key Account Management and Business Development within Telecoms or FMCG sectors.
- Demonstrated success in sales and business development roles.
- Experience managing large accounts at head office or executive level.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of the local Telecoms industry and Southern African markets is advantageous.
- Proactive with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
