Africa Personnel Services is seeking a dedicated Junior Trainer Ranger to join our team in Lusaka, Zambia. This contract position plays a vital role within LEAD Current Operations, focusing on the professional training, coaching, and mentoring of wildlife rangers, their instructors, and team leaders. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of senior trainers to ensure effective and efficient delivery of ranger training programs.
Role Overview for Junior Trainer Ranger Jobs in Lusaka
Reporting directly to a Senior Trainer, the Junior Trainer Ranger will assist in the development and delivery of training curricula while supporting operational activities on the ground. This position requires a proactive approach to managing training materials, coordinating with support staff, and maintaining a safe and disciplined learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Personnel Support: Assist guest instructors by providing guidance, coaching, mentoring, and enforcing safeguarding protocols (SHEA).
- Training Development: Collaborate in creating training products, curricula, and materials under supervision.
- Information Management: Deliver timely reports and updates to instructors, students, LEAD management, and partner organizations. Attend meetings and ensure proper documentation of training events.
- Operations Support: Participate in fact-finding, training preparation and delivery, assessments, coaching, mentoring, evaluations, and incident management. Ensure a safe learning environment and coordinate with support staff such as chefs, nurses, and drivers.
- Logistics: Monitor and maintain training materials and equipment, requesting replacements proactively to support uninterrupted training delivery.
- Safety & Medical: Assist with risk management and prepare CASEVAC plans for training interventions when required.
- Communication & IT: Manage personal computer systems and communication equipment, requesting upgrades or replacements as needed.
- Financial Management: Handle financial matters related to individual expenses and training activities, ensuring timely reporting.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL): Support data collection and reporting efforts to enhance program effectiveness.
- Learning & Instructional Leadership: Provide advice and assistance in curriculum development and instructor training.
- Additional Duties: Liaise with partners and subject matter experts, and represent LEAD at relevant events under guidance.
