About the Role: Junior Internal Auditor and Cost Accountant

As a Junior Internal Auditor and Cost Accountant at Medland Hospital, you will play a key role in supporting the internal audit function and ensuring accurate cost accounting practices. You will be responsible for preparing audit documentation, identifying operational risks, and assisting with compliance assessments. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to communicate practical recommendations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and draft audit working papers to support audit conclusions in accordance with local auditing standards.
• Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies, and risks, and contribute to developing actionable improvement recommendations.
• Assist in assessing compliance with internal policies and statutory obligations, including ZRA tax laws, NAPSA, and NHIMA requirements.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding audit findings to ensure timely resolution by relevant department heads.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from a recognized university.
• Current registration with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
• Between 1 and 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Basic knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the ZICA Code of Professional Conduct, and Zambian corporate tax principles.
