Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

The IT Specialist will play a vital role in managing and supporting the company’s IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of all computer systems and networks. Key duties include:

• Managing and maintaining computer systems, servers, networks, and IT infrastructure.
• Providing technical support to staff and resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining computers, printers, network devices, and other IT equipment.
• Overseeing network connectivity, internet services, user accounts, and access controls.
• Monitoring system performance and implementing cybersecurity measures to safeguard company data.
• Managing data backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
• Supporting and troubleshooting CCTV, access control, and other electronic security systems where applicable.
• Maintaining IT documentation, asset registers, and software licensing compliance.
• Assisting with the deployment and improvement of company information systems and business applications.
• Training employees on the effective use of IT systems and applications.
• Liaising with external IT service providers to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and recommending solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience Required for IT Specialist Jobs in Lusaka

Applicants for this full-time role should meet the following criteria:

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of three years’ relevant experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong expertise in computer networking, Windows operating systems, hardware, software, and IT security.
• Proven experience in network troubleshooting, system administration, and IT support.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN architectures, TCP/IP protocols, routers, switches, Wi-Fi networks, and network security best practices.
• Experience with data backup and recovery solutions.
• Familiarity with CCTV and electronic security systems is a distinct advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Capacity to perform under pressure and respond effectively to IT emergencies.
