About the IT Administrator Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and supporting ZEGA Limited’s IT systems. This full-time role demands a proactive individual who can troubleshoot issues efficiently, enforce IT policies, and contribute to continuous improvements in network performance and security.

Key Responsibilities for IT Administrator Jobs in Lusaka

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, desktops, and laptops across the organization.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system-related problems to minimize downtime.
  • Administer IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of IT incidents, maintenance activities, and backup schedules.
  • Collaborate with software vendors and service providers to address technical issues.
  • Support and maintain Microsoft Windows operating systems and related applications.
  • Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Server, DNS, and DHCP services.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
  • Configure and monitor routers, switches, and other network infrastructure devices.
  • Install, maintain, and repair CCTV surveillance systems.
  • Conduct regular system backups and ensure data integrity with disaster recovery procedures.
  • Monitor network performance and implement enhancements to improve reliability and security.
  • Provide end-user training on IT systems, software applications, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Ensure IT equipment and systems meet company standards and security requirements.
  • Support new technology implementations and IT projects as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of proven experience in IT administration, network management, or technical support.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft Exchange environments.
  • Proficient in network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
  • Hands-on experience configuring routers, switches, and network security devices.
  • Practical knowledge of CCTV system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, backup procedures, and disaster recovery practices.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or Cisco CCNA are advantageous.
