Position Overview for Internal Auditor Jobs in Kitwe

The Internal Auditor will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of the Trust’s risk management, governance, and internal control frameworks. By objectively assessing and enhancing business practices, the successful candidate will help safeguard the Trust’s assets and promote compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive audit program targeting all high-risk areas within the Trust.
• Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting control weaknesses and recommending corrective actions to Management and the Board.
• Ensure strict adherence to Trust policies and regulatory requirements across all operational functions.
• Evaluate compliance with applicable laws and regulations affecting the Trust’s operations.
• Review financial documents including invoices, contracts, purchase orders, and payment vouchers prior to transaction finalization.
• Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial controls, risk management, and operational processes.
• Recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance, or professional qualifications such as ZICA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Membership with ZICA is required.
• Proficiency in Sage Pastel accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar internal audit role.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in audit work.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• High levels of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.

Terms of Engagement

• Location: Kitwe, Zambia.
• Contract Type: Fixed-Term, 3-year contract.
• Employment Type: Full Time.
• Remuneration: Monthly salary (details to be discussed during recruitment).
