Key Responsibilities for Internal Audit Senior Jobs in Lusaka

• Develop and execute comprehensive audit programs aligned with the annual audit plan.
• Conduct continuous audit reviews of IT and system-related applications using established methodologies.
• Perform semi-annual IT risk assessments and monitor financial and operational performance across the Group.
• Provide weekly progress updates to the Chief Internal Auditor (CIA).
• Prepare quarterly tailored revenue assurance reports.
• Support investigatory work related to fraud, theft, and misappropriation, including court appearances as a witness when necessary.
• Collaborate with the Security department on fraud investigations.
• Review management accounts quarterly for selected divisions, ensuring completion of internal audit checklists.
• Conduct monthly self-assessments on audit quality in line with internal audit manuals.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations within agreed timelines.
• Follow up regularly on the implementation status of audit recommendations.
• Compile monthly summaries of audit work for CIA review and Audit Committee reporting.
• Execute additional assignments as delegated by the Internal Audit Manager and Chief Internal Auditor.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Minimum Grade 12 certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or CA Zambia (ZICA) equivalent.
• Certifications like CISA, CIA, or other relevant audit qualifications are desirable.
• At least 3 years of experience in audit or internal controls environments.
• Membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) is mandatory.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Pastel Evolution and familiarity with controls review or Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAAT) software.
