About the Role: Interior Design Assistant Jobs in Lusaka

As an Interior Design Assistant at Curtain Factory, you will play a key role in assisting the lead Interior Designer to develop innovative design concepts and ensure seamless project delivery. You will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and the project team to maintain high standards of design quality and client satisfaction. This position offers valuable experience in both creative design and project coordination within a dynamic showroom and studio environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support initial client consultations by documenting briefs, budgets, and project scopes.
• Assist in creating mood boards, material selections, and colour palettes aligned with client needs.
• Help prepare and refine design presentations for client approval, incorporating feedback professionally.
• Coordinate with the project team to ensure design specifications are met during execution.
• Participate in site visits to monitor project progress and quality of implementation.
• Maintain effective communication with clients to manage expectations and project updates.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or equivalent qualification.
• A portfolio showcasing completed interior design projects is essential.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional interior design role, preferably with exposure to residential and/or commercial projects.
• Proficiency in design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3ds Max, or similar platforms.

Skills and Personal Attributes

• Strong creative and spatial design skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities for client interactions.
• Knowledge of finishes, fabrics, furniture, lighting, and FF&E.
• Organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Client-focused with a professional attitude representing the Curtain Factory brand.
• Valid driver’s license and own transport for site visits; flexibility for occasional evening or weekend appointments.

Work Environment and Location

This position is based at our showroom and studio located at Ibex Hub Mall, Corner of Chimanga Road & Bill Sela Street, Ibex Hill, Lusaka, Zambia. The role involves regular client site visits within the region to ensure design quality and project progress.
