About Family Legacy and the Role
Since 2000, Family Legacy Missions Zambia has been transforming the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children through programs focused on academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical growth. The ICT Teacher will play a vital role in delivering quality education aligned with the organization’s policies, while promoting a safe and nurturing learning environment. This position emphasizes holistic student development, including intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth.
Key Responsibilities for ICT Teacher Jobs in Lusaka
- Student Management: Oversee classroom instruction, track attendance, address student concerns, mediate conflicts, and maintain continuous academic assessments.
- Child Safeguarding: Ensure emotionally safe learning spaces, monitor student wellbeing, report any abuse or concerns promptly, and adhere strictly to safeguarding policies and protocols.
- Lesson Delivery: Develop and implement lesson plans based on the revised curriculum, model proficient English communication, support struggling learners, and integrate social-emotional learning and Christian values.
- Student Discipline: Enforce the student code of conduct, handle disciplinary cases professionally, and promote accountability among learners.
- Leadership and School Culture: Participate in decision-making, foster positive values, encourage students, and serve as a holistic role model.
- Time and Classroom Management: Ensure punctuality in all school activities, maintain classroom security, cleanliness, and inventory of supplies.
- Records and Exams: Maintain comprehensive records including attendance, behavior logs, lesson plans, and invigilate examinations as required.
- Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with supervisors and staff following established channels.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate and a Secondary School Teacher Degree in Education.
- Valid Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) Certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably in secondary education.
- Excellent command of oral and written English.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Word and Excel.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural and faith-based environments.
