Role Overview – ICT Assistant Jobs in Siavonga

Reporting to the IT, Data & Analytics Manager, the ICT Assistant plays a vital role in managing day-to-day helpdesk operations, device and user account administration, network and security equipment maintenance, and basic reporting tasks. This position supports multiple facets of IT services to maintain operational efficiency across Kamimbi Aqua Feed’s sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Helpdesk & End-User Support: Log, triage, and resolve IT helpdesk tickets related to hardware, software, network, and user accounts. Provide first-line support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals, escalating complex issues appropriately. Set up new user accounts, email mailboxes, and provision devices, including Intune/Autopilot enrollment. Maintain accurate ICT asset inventories.
• Network & Infrastructure Support: Assist in configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network equipment such as switches, access points, and firewalls. Support VLAN, Wi-Fi, and cabling installations, perform basic diagnostics, and maintain CCTV and access control systems, including camera and NVR configurations. Ensure cross-site VPN connectivity and promptly report outages or performance issues.
• Systems, Security & Cloud Administration: Support Microsoft 365 and Intune administration tasks including device compliance checks and policy deployments. Assist with Active Directory user and group account management under supervision. Help enforce ICT security policies related to endpoint protection, patching, and access control. Conduct backup verifications and routine system health monitoring.
• General ICT Duties: Perform routine housekeeping tasks such as software updates, disk clean-ups, and equipment testing. Assist with infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and other projects as assigned by the IT & Data Analytics Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in IT support, helpdesk, or network support roles; internships and attachments will be considered.
• Proficient with Windows desktop environments, Microsoft 365, and fundamental networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, and Wi-Fi.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and basic user/account administration.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to problem diagnosis.
