Role Overview – Human Resources Specialist Jobs in Lusaka
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Learning and Organisation Development, the Human Resources Specialist will lead the coordination and management of performance management, talent review, employee engagement, recognition, and wellness programs. This role is essential in driving MTN Zambia’s people agenda and aligning HR initiatives with business strategy to foster a motivated and high-performing workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Performance Management: Oversee the complete performance management cycle, including goal setting, KPI alignment, reviews, and calibration, ensuring compliance with MTN Group standards.
- Talent Management & Succession Planning: Coordinate talent reviews, maintain talent inventories, and support development plans and succession readiness for critical roles.
- Employee Recognition: Manage recognition programs that promote MTN values, including awards and appreciation initiatives, to enhance employee engagement.
- Employee Engagement & Surveys: Facilitate engagement surveys, analyze feedback, and collaborate on action plans to improve employee experience.
- Employee Wellness: Implement wellness programs addressing physical, mental, emotional, social, and financial wellbeing, and liaise with service providers to optimize outcomes.
- HR Analytics & Reporting: Develop and analyze HR dashboards and reports to inform leadership decisions and support strategic workforce planning.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to MTN policies and continuously seek opportunities to enhance HR processes and employee experiences.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Professional HR certification (ZIHRM, CIPD, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Grade 12 certificate with at least 5 credits including English and Mathematics.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years focused on performance management, talent management, employee engagement, organizational development, or employee wellness.
- Experience facilitating talent reviews, succession planning, and HR analytics.
- Experience in telecommunications or a fast-paced corporate environment is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of performance management frameworks and talent management principles.
- Proficiency in employee engagement methodologies and organizational development.
- Expertise in employee wellness programs and HR analytics.
- Familiarity with HR policies, labour legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and HR Information Systems (HRIS).
