Position Overview: Human Resource Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the recruitment, selection, and induction process for new employees.
• Foster and promote a positive in-house company culture aligned with Malu Capital’s values.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases to support organizational needs.
• Assist with performance management and appraisal systems to enhance staff development.
• Administer staff contracts, leave management, promotions, and disciplinary procedures.
• Ensure full compliance with Zambian labor laws and internal HR policies.
• Coordinate staff training programs and capacity-building initiatives.
• Address employee grievances and oversee welfare matters professionally and confidentially.
• Prepare comprehensive HR reports and workforce analytics for management review.
• Serve as a correspondent for public relations matters related to human resources.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) and a valid practicing license.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in a human resource role, demonstrating practical knowledge of HR operations.

• In-depth understanding of labor laws and best HR practices within Zambia.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with staff at all levels.
• Strong sense of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
