About the HR Officer Role

This role offers a gross monthly salary of K5,000 and requires a proactive individual to manage a broad range of human resource functions. The HR Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s growth by ensuring effective recruitment, employee engagement, and compliance with labor laws.

Key Responsibilities for HR Officer Jobs in Lusaka

• Lead the recruitment process including job advertising, candidate shortlisting, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
• Manage employee relations, engagement initiatives, and welfare programs to foster a positive workplace culture.
• Draft, review, and administer staff contracts in line with company policies and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and submission of statutory returns (NAPSA and NHIMA).
• Handle disciplinary procedures, grievances, and investigations while maintaining compliance with Zambian labor laws.
• Implement performance management systems including appraisals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Maintain comprehensive HR records and generate reports to support organizational decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional HR qualifications are an advantage.
• At least 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in human resource management.
• Thorough knowledge of Zambian Labour Laws and HR best practices.
• Current paid membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
