This full-time position is ideal for a proactive HR professional who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys collaborating closely with managers and employees, and takes ownership of HR processes. The successful candidate will work alongside the Group HR Manager and the wider Southern Africa HR team to manage day-to-day HR activities in assigned countries. Comfort with diverse cultures, employment environments, and cross-border operations is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full employee lifecycle for Zambia and Botswana, including recruitment, onboarding, development, performance management, employee relations, and exit processes.
• Ensure compliance with local labour laws, advise on policy application, and update staff handbook procedures accordingly.
• Partner with managers to provide practical HR advice and support on people-related matters.
• Coordinate training and skills development initiatives, maintain learning records, and support career growth.
• Administer employee benefits such as medical, pension, insurance, and leave; act as the local liaison with service providers.
• Maintain accurate HR administration and HRIS data; prepare HR metrics and reports to support decision-making by senior management.
• Support and occasionally lead HR projects, including mentorship, skills transfer, employee wellness, and performance management.
• Manage recruitment partners and HR vendors to ensure a high-quality candidate and employee experience.
• Promote effective communication and engagement across teams and offices.
• Travel to Botswana and other regional offices as required.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
• Professional membership (e.g., ZIHRM) is advantageous.
• At least 5 years’ experience in an HR Officer or generalist role, with demonstrated expertise in recruitment, training, employee benefits administration, and HR administration.
• Solid understanding of Zambian labour law.
• Experience working in Botswana or other SADC countries is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS platforms.
• Eligibility to work in Zambia.
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
