Role Summary: Human Resource & Admin Officer
Reporting to the Project Manager with a dotted line to the Human Resources Manager, this full-time position provides comprehensive HR and administrative support to the LWI project office in Petauke. The successful candidate will manage human resources functions, office administration, facilities, and logistics, ensuring compliance with LWI policies and Zambian labor laws while upholding the organization’s Christian values.
Key Responsibilities for HR & Admin Officer Jobs in Petauke
- Human Resource Management: Serve as the primary HR contact for recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, staff welfare, and compliance with labor regulations.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Coordinate transparent and fair recruitment processes, including job description development, candidate screening, interviews, and induction of new staff.
- Performance & Development: Support performance evaluations, identify training needs, and facilitate learning and capacity-building activities.
- Staff Welfare & Employee Relations: Manage benefits administration, resolve workplace conflicts, and promote a positive work environment.
- HR Systems & Reporting: Maintain accurate HR records, prepare monthly reports, and ensure data confidentiality.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing by providing timely and accurate employee data.
- Labor Law Compliance: Keep abreast of Zambian labor laws and ensure all HR practices meet legal and organizational standards.
- Office Administration: Oversee daily office operations, supervise administrative staff, manage facilities, and coordinate travel and logistics.
- Fleet & Asset Management: Support vehicle maintenance, asset tracking, and lease contract administration.
- Reporting & Risk Management: Provide accurate HR and administrative reports, identify risks, and assist with audits and compliance activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field.
- Minimum of five years’ progressive experience in HR and administration, preferably within an international NGO or faith-based organization.
- Membership in the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) with a valid practicing license.
- Proven expertise in recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, payroll support, and confidential record-keeping.
- Experience supervising administrative teams and managing office operations.
- Knowledge of facilities, fleet, logistics, asset, and lease management is advantageous.
