YELLOWQUIP LIMITED is seeking a dedicated and experienced HER-Forman to join our team in Chingola, Copperbelt, Zambia. This contract role offers a monthly salary range of ZMW 10,000 – 13,000 and is ideal for professionals with a strong mechanical engineering background and hands-on experience in automotive workshop equipment.

Position Overview for HER-Forman Jobs in Chingola

The HER-Forman will play a critical role in ensuring all workshop equipment is fully operational and well-maintained. Responsibilities include assisting with the cleanliness and upkeep of the fitment center floor, machinery, and tools, as well as performing routine and scheduled maintenance on all workshop machinery to guarantee optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain all workshop equipment in excellent working condition.
• Support cleaning and maintenance of the fitment center floor, machinery, and tools.
• Conduct routine and periodic maintenance on workshop machinery.
• Identify mechanical issues and promptly report faulty equipment to supervisors.
• Assist in the repair and upkeep of workshop equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all preventative maintenance checks per location.
• Ensure all vehicle tyres are replaced or turned on rims as necessary to maximize usage and longevity.
• Promote a clean, safe, and professional workshop environment in line with health and safety standards.
• Liaise effectively with team leaders to coordinate maintenance activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in mechanical engineering.
• At least 2-3 years’ experience in automotive garage equipment servicing and installation.
• Previous experience in a related workshop or mechanical environment.
• Possession of a craft certificate or formal training in mechanical works.
• Valid driver’s license.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and supervisors.
• In-depth understanding of tyre fitting processes and wheel alignment procedures, including machine calibration.
• Ability to follow departmental policies and maintain quality standards.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Physical capability to perform workshop-based tasks requiring moderate exertion throughout the shift.
• Competence in performing standard vehicle maintenance checks.

Performance Indicators

• Complete repairs within 90% of allocated hours.
• Maintain a 95% quality rating for work performed.
• Ensure zero safety incidents in the workshop.
• Achieve a 75% team performance rating.
• Reduce repair costs by 80% through efficient maintenance.
• Lower parts inventory by 90% through effective parts management.
• Complete 100% of required training programs.
