Role Overview for Heavy Equipment Mechanic Jobs in Manyinga

As a lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will travel to various job sites to perform thorough inspections of engines and equipment. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and executing repairs to ensure all machinery operates efficiently and safely. Your role is vital to maintaining the reliability and performance of our construction and mining fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive to job sites to inspect and service heavy-duty construction machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventive servicing on equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs performed.
• Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards on all equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Craft Technician Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Automotive, Heavy Equipment Repair, or Auto Electrics.
• Accredited Registered Technician or Registered Technologist with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
• Minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in a similar heavy equipment maintenance role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of automotive and mechanical plant equipment, preferably within automotive or road transport industries.
• Physically fit and capable of working in demanding environments.
