Position Overview – Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Jobs in Kanchibiya
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of workshop machinery and heavy equipment. Key duties include conducting regular maintenance, dismantling and assembling mechanical components, and accurately maintaining repair records. You will also be expected to safely dispose of oily and greasy waste materials and diagnose equipment issues by test driving and assessing machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment and workshop machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
- Dismantle and reassemble mechanical parts according to technical specifications.
- Properly dispose of oily and greasy contaminated waste materials in compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain detailed work logs and repair records using work order forms.
- Repair or replace faulty or broken components promptly.
- Diagnose equipment faults through test driving and technical evaluation.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to foster a productive work environment.
- Assess equipment condition and prepare reports with recommendations for maintenance and repairs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a Diploma or Craft Certificate in Heavy Duty Equipment Repairs from a recognized institution.
- At least 2 years of industrial experience in heavy-duty equipment repairs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of heavy-duty mechanical systems and their operation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- A Grade Twelve certificate is required.
