Dozer Operator – One-Year Fixed Term Contract

Location: Monze, Zambia

Reporting To: Mine Manager / Supervisor

The Dozer Operator will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of dozer machinery to support mining production, haul road maintenance, and general site activities. This position demands strict adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate dozer equipment safely and efficiently according to mine operational requirements.
  • Perform pre-start inspections before each shift to ensure equipment readiness.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment internally and externally.
  • Conduct clean-up activities on haul roads, dump areas, and production zones.
  • Assist with haul road construction and ongoing maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety standards, including maintaining road surfaces and windrow heights.
  • Report any equipment defects promptly to maintenance and dispatch teams.
  • Carry out additional production-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ experience operating dozer equipment in an open-pit mining environment.
  • Valid certification in heavy equipment or bulldozer operation.
  • Experience in bush clearing and civil works is advantageous.
  • Proficiency operating Caterpillar, Liebherr, Shantui, or similar machinery.
  • Strong understanding of mine safety procedures and regulations.

Health and Safety Officer – Fixed Term Contract

Location: Monze, Zambia

Reporting To: Mine Manager

The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving health and safety management systems across the mining operations and gypsum processing plant. This role supports the company’s commitment to a zero-harm workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce site-specific health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments throughout the mine site.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses thoroughly and promptly.
  • Deliver safety inductions and training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Monitor personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance and safe work practices.
  • Coordinate emergency response drills and safety audits.
  • Prepare and submit monthly safety performance reports.
  • Foster and promote a proactive safety culture across all operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the mining or construction industry.
  • Valid ZOHSA Practicing Licence and Silicosis Certificate.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Zambian mining safety legislation.
  • Strong skills in incident investigation and report writing.
