Key Responsibilities for Health and Safety Officer Jobs in Lusaka

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as First Aid and CPR are advantageous.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a health and safety role, preferably within construction or manufacturing sectors.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and practical experience conducting risk assessments and accident investigations.
• Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and strong organizational skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail with the capacity to work independently.
• Capability to train and advise employees at various levels effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Physical fitness to inspect work areas and utilize necessary safety equipment.
