About the Role – Head of Procurement Jobs in Kanchibiya

As the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services. You will develop and implement procurement plans and strategies in collaboration with end-users, managing both local and international supplier relationships to secure quality products and services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare and supervise accurate procurement plans to support informed decision-making.
• Design procurement documents and oversee supply administration, including ordering and compliance with local and foreign purchase procedures.
• Conduct market surveys, evaluate and qualify suppliers based on price competitiveness, quality, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate, renegotiate, or terminate contracts as necessary to respond to changing circumstances.
• Prepare bid documents and actively participate in tender committees, ensuring adherence to Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) regulations.
• Review and authorize purchase orders and contracts, safeguarding the company from unauthorized commitments.
• Provide regular procurement and stores reports to management and contribute to organizational planning.
• Collaborate with superiors and end-users on purchases outside standard specifications, offering alternative solutions when appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Candidates applying for this contract position must meet the following qualifications and experience criteria:

• Full Grade 12 GCE Level Certificate or GCSE.
• University degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management or an equivalent qualification.
• Full Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) qualification.
• At least six years of relevant post-qualification experience.
• Membership in the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).
• Comprehensive knowledge of Zambian Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) regulations and procedures.
• Experience working with public entities is an added advantage.
