About the Group Mechanic Electrician Role in Solwezi

As a Group Mechanic / Electrician at Merfar Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our company fleet. Your expertise will support both routine maintenance and urgent repairs, helping to minimize downtime and maintain high performance standards. This position reports directly to the Logistics Controller and offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from ZMW 5,000 to ZMW 8,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing and maintenance on all company vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle breakdowns promptly, including on-call emergency responses.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to extend vehicle lifespan and optimize performance.
• Prepare detailed investigation reports following each vehicle breakdown.
• Maintain and regularly update service records and schedules for the entire fleet.
• Collaborate closely with the Logistics Controller to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• Valid manual driver’s licence.
• Minimum of two years’ hands-on experience working with Nissan, Toyota, Honda, and Ford vehicles.
• Proficiency in operating vehicle diagnostic equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within the team.
• High commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards.
• Basic computer literacy for record keeping and reporting.
