Our client currently requires a dedicated Grants Officer to join their Grants, Projects, and Stakeholder Relations Team. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of grant opportunities—from identifying potential funding and preparing applications to reporting on project progress during implementation.

Key Responsibilities for Grants Officer Jobs in Lusaka

  • Market Analysis: Identify new funding opportunities and maintain an Annual Grants Plan documenting all applications and decisions.
  • Grant Management:
    • Prepare and consolidate persuasive proposals to secure funding.
    • Coordinate inputs from various teams to ensure comprehensive submissions.
    • Ensure timely submission of all grant requirements.
    • Manage a repository of supporting documentation for funders.
    • Develop and maintain a Grant Tracking Tool to monitor progress, compliance, and performance.
    • Assist Legal Counsel with grant contracting processes.
  • Business Support: Facilitate monthly stakeholder meetings to maintain alignment and provide support in governance forums and strategy tracking.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • At least three years’ experience with a strong understanding of grant management processes.
  • Proven ability to evaluate proposals, identify financial and operational risks, and deliver evidence-based recommendations.
  • Interest in renewable energy and rural electrification initiatives across Africa is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with funding programs and proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
