Position Overview: Graduate Financial Auditor

As a Graduate Financial Auditor at ZESCO, you will assist in developing annual internal audit work plans for the Procurement Department and the Investments and Finance directorate. Your responsibilities will include conducting financial audits and providing consulting services to management and staff. The role emphasizes a risk-based audit approach designed to support management in achieving their objectives effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile reports for Entry and Exit Conferences of each audit project.
• Assist in formulating audit objectives, plans, and scope aligned with the Internal Audit Charter and audit risk assessments.
• Prepare detailed audit programs tailored to specific audits to ensure comprehensive coverage and effective audit techniques.
• Execute assigned audit projects by identifying issues, developing criteria, analyzing evidence, and documenting client processes.
• Conduct interviews, review documents, administer surveys, and prepare summary memos and working papers.
• Identify and document audit issues and recommend improvements.
• Prepare and present concise, accurate written reports for management distribution.
• Maintain effective working relationships with location personnel and audit staff.
• Pursue professional development through training and association memberships, sharing knowledge with colleagues.
• Perform administrative duties as delegated by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
• A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CA Zambia.
• No prior work experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for recent graduates.
