About the GP Participant Role
As a GP Participant, you will engage in a structured on-the-job training program rotating through various departments according to your personalized development plan. This role supports critical operational projects and daily activities, providing hands-on experience in a real mining environment.
- Participate in cross-departmental training and development initiatives
- Support operational teams with project execution and daily tasks
- Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports to support decision-making
- Collaborate with senior staff and cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies
- Engage in continuous learning through mentorship and formal training sessions
- Contribute innovative ideas to improve business processes and outcomes
Essential Operational and Behavioural Requirements
Successful candidates will demonstrate a solid understanding of mining legislation, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols. The role requires adaptability to remote work environments, physical agility, and resilience to operate in diverse weather conditions. You must be willing to travel across First Quantum Minerals’ sites, both locally and internationally, as business needs arise.
- Knowledge of mining legislation, SOPs, and risk assessment methodologies
- Ability to work effectively in diverse and cross-cultural teams
- Physical capability to access various mining operation areas in remote locations
- Resilience and adaptability to operational challenges in a remote Zambian mining site
- Willingness to travel across multiple First Quantum Minerals sites

Qualifications and Experience for GP Participant Jobs in Kalumbila
This entry-level role requires a bachelor’s degree in one of the following relevant fields:

- Environmental Sciences
- Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
- Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering
