Position Overview: Global Data Manager for Visualization

As the Global Data Manager for Visualization, you will lead the design, development, and management of advanced data visualization solutions. Your work will enable leaders across bureaus, regions, and country programs to access timely, accurate, and actionable insights through robust, scalable data systems. This full-time position is based anywhere within African countries where AHF operates.

Key Responsibilities for Global Data Manager Jobs in Africa

  • Design and maintain sophisticated dashboards and visualization tools using Vue.js and modern frontend frameworks.
  • Develop secure, high-performance backend services and APIs with C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET to support real-time and scheduled data pipelines.
  • Architect microservices-based solutions to ensure scalable, modular, and efficient deployment of data systems.
  • Lead SQL database development including schema design, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Integrate data from diverse global systems such as HMIS, MER platforms, and program reporting tools into unified visualization models.
  • Apply SOLID principles, clean architecture, and best coding practices to maintain high-quality, reusable codebases.
  • Manage Git version control workflows, including branching strategies, pull requests, and CI/CD pipeline integration.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Design, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI are highly desirable.
  • Strong expertise in Vue.js, TypeScript, SPA architecture, and component libraries for frontend development.
  • Advanced proficiency in C#, .NET Core/ASP.NET, REST API development, and backend engineering.
  • Experience with microservices, containerization, and service orchestration.
  • Deep knowledge of SQL database design, optimization, and data transformation workflows.
  • Familiarity with visualization libraries like Apex Charts, Highcharts, Chart.js, or D3.js.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and automated data refresh cycles.
  • Proficiency in applying SOLID principles, clean architecture, and reusable code patterns.
  • Competence in Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience with Docker and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is a plus.
