Position Summary: Front End Loader Operator Jobs in Serenje

We are looking for skilled Front End Loader Operators who will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of raw materials, manganese ore, slag, and industrial waste. This role is essential to maintaining continuous smelting operations and meeting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loaders to lift, move, and load raw materials such as scrap metal, slag, coal, and sand.
• Supply materials efficiently to processing areas, coordinating with furnace tappers and metal separators to achieve daily production goals.
• Load materials into commercial trucks or stockpiles, ensuring no overloading or site congestion occurs.
• Conduct daily safety inspections of the loader, including fluid levels, tire or track conditions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform routine cleaning and greasing of the loader, replace minor worn parts, and report complex mechanical issues promptly to maintenance.
• Maintain clear driving paths, loading bays, and slag separation zones by removing spills, obstructions, and debris.
• Comply strictly with Zambian occupational health and safety regulations, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of Full Grade 9 or Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Valid Class CE Driver’s License and a Front End Loader Operator Permit.
• A current Silicosis Medical Certificate, mandatory for this industrial environment.
• Proven experience driving heavy commercial trucks and operating front-end loaders.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ hands-on experience operating heavy equipment in manufacturing plants, smelters, or mining operations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to work extended shifts in high-temperature conditions near industrial furnaces.
• Capability to climb in and out of heavy machinery and perform manual greasing or minor maintenance tasks.
• Comfort working under loud noise, dust, slag debris, and varying weather conditions.
