About the Role – Fleet Manager Jobs in Ndola

As the Fleet Manager for our fuel tanker operations, you will oversee the daily management of the fleet to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective transport services. You will lead operational planning, supervise drivers, and coordinate maintenance, all while upholding the highest standards of customer service and regulatory compliance. This full-time position is a key role within our Transport & Logistics department.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage daily fuel tanker fleet operations to maximize efficiency and safety.
• Ensure strict compliance with road transport laws, hazardous goods regulations, and internal policies.
• Monitor vehicle utilization and operational performance, implementing improvements where necessary.
• Supervise drivers, enforcing safety protocols, fatigue management, and company standards.
• Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs to reduce vehicle downtime.
• Track fuel consumption and introduce measures to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce costs.
• Prepare detailed operational reports, fleet performance analyses, and KPIs for senior management.
• Manage driver recruitment, induction, ongoing training, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate effectively with clients, suppliers, workshops, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
• Professional certifications in Fleet Management, Transport Management, or Logistics are advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing commercial fleets, including at least 3 years in fuel tanker or hazardous goods transport.
• Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance, transport operations, and logistics planning.

Skills and Competencies

• Comprehensive understanding of fuel tanker operations and hazardous cargo transportation regulations.
• Proven leadership skills with strong decision-making and people management capabilities.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
