Role Overview for Fintech Support Intern Jobs in Lusaka

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Fintech, Data and Systems, the Fintech Support Intern will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of SupaMoto’s PAYGO and mobile-money platforms. The intern will support transaction reconciliation, resolve payment queries, assist with staff training, and contribute to process improvements, all while maintaining compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Mobile Money & PAYGO Support: Monitor daily transactions, flag irregular payments, assist with account reactivations, and troubleshoot payment-related issues.
• Customer & Agent Query Resolution: Respond to payment and account inquiries, escalate disputes, and maintain records of recurring issues.
• Data & Reporting: Support data entry, validation, and reporting activities including arrears and payment success rate tracking.
• Process & Documentation: Maintain SOPs, identify process gaps, and assist with fintech support documentation.
• Systems Training & Staff Support: Train staff and agents on fintech systems, develop user guides, and serve as a first point of contact for system queries.
• Process Mapping & AI Solutions: Assist in documenting fintech workflows and support AI-driven process improvement initiatives.
• Compliance: Support adherence to financial compliance policies, assist with audits, maintain documentation, and monitor regulatory changes.

Qualifications and Skills

• Currently pursuing or holding a Diploma/Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, IT, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong numerical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, including basic formulas and lookups.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently, follow processes, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Prior experience with mobile money, PAYGO, or fintech products is advantageous but not required.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to handle sensitive financial and customer data with discretion.
