Our client, a dynamic organization focused on technical excellence and operational reliability, is looking for a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join their team in Kasama, Northern Zambia. This full-time role offers the chance to contribute to critical infrastructure and support regional technical operations.

About the Role and Your Responsibilities

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing technical operations across assigned clusters, ensuring high system uptime and equipment health. Your primary objective will be to maintain Hub energy uptime at a minimum of 99.9% and ensure pack health remains at or above 98%. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance to support the operational integrity of energy systems.

• Technical Troubleshooting and Management (50%): Diagnose and escalate defective packs, monitor Hub energy performance to prevent downtime, test new products and firmware, conduct on-site troubleshooting and repairs, and complete Hub commissioning and go-live sign-offs.
• Reporting (15%): Provide daily updates on Hub issues, weekly health reports, technical communications, and monthly cluster status reports to relevant stakeholders.
• Planning and Leadership (15%): Develop weekly route plans detailing Hub visits, issue resolution, and required support; participate in weekly coordination meetings to set priorities and address operational gaps.
• Management and Supervision (15%): Attend regional meetings and maintain accurate records of Hub equipment and inventory, including defective components.
• Other Duties (5%): Record and log all field activities accurately.

Qualifications and Skills for Field Service Engineer Jobs in Kasama

Candidates should possess a Diploma or Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, combined with 2-3 years of practical experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic systems. Proficiency with diagnostic tools, software, and data analysis applications is essential for effective issue resolution.

Key Performance Indicators and Working Relationships

• 99.9% Energy Uptime
• 98% Pack Health (allowing no more than 2% defective packs at any time)
• 95% Charge Health

You will work closely with a range of stakeholders including Jaza Stars, Hub Managers, Field Service Engineers, Regional Service Engineers, Regional Coordinators, and the TechOps Lead.
