Position Overview: Environmental Health Technologist Jobs in Lusaka

As an Environmental Health Technologist at Coptic Hospital, you will play a critical role in ensuring the hospital complies with environmental health, hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations. You will conduct inspections, monitor waste management, and provide guidance to hospital staff to promote a safe and healthy environment for patients and personnel alike.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough environmental health inspections and assessments across hospital facilities.
• Monitor adherence to environmental health, hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Ensure effective waste management and disposal procedures are followed.
• Deliver health and safety awareness sessions and advise staff on environmental health issues.
• Identify potential environmental health risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports on findings and compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
• Verification of qualifications by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA) is mandatory.
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) and possession of a valid practicing licence.
• Relevant work experience in environmental health will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team within a hospital environment.
