We are currently seeking a committed Secondary School Teacher specializing in Religious Education and English to join our team in Lusaka, Zambia. About the Role – English Teacher Jobs in Lusaka

As a Secondary School Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons aligned with the revised curriculum, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment, and promoting Christian values consistent with Family Legacy’s mission. You will manage student behavior, monitor attendance, and maintain comprehensive academic records while actively participating in safeguarding initiatives to protect the wellbeing of all learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Student Management (20%): Oversee classroom instruction, track attendance, mediate conflicts, and maintain continuous academic assessments.
• Child Safeguarding (15%): Provide emotionally safe learning spaces, monitor student wellbeing, respond to disclosures, and adhere strictly to safeguarding policies and protocols.
• Leadership (10%): Foster a positive school culture, encourage students, and collaborate with supervisors to resolve academic challenges.
• Lesson Delivery (20%): Prepare and submit detailed lesson plans and schemes of work, promote spoken English proficiency, and implement interventions for struggling students.
• Student Discipline (10%): Enforce the student code of conduct and handle disciplinary cases professionally.
• Time Management (5%): Ensure punctuality and smooth scheduling of daily school activities.
• School Environment and Maintenance (5%): Maintain clean classrooms and manage classroom resources effectively.
• Communication (5%): Follow established communication channels and keep supervisors informed of relevant matters.
• Classroom Security (5%): Secure classrooms at the end of each day and supervise students appropriately.
• Records Management (5%): Maintain accurate and up-to-date teaching records including attendance, behavior logs, lesson plans, and assessment reports.
• Examinations (5%): Administer local tests, invigilate national exams, and provide accurate learner data as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 Certificate and a Secondary School Teacher Degree in Education.
• Valid Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) Certificate.
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
• Excellent command of oral and written English.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Word and Excel.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally within faith-based environments.
• Committed Christian with alignment to Family Legacy’s values of integrity, compassion, excellence, accountability, and faith.
