Our client, a well-established road construction company, is looking to appoint a skilled Engineering Surveyor to support their ongoing projects in the Kasempa District, Northwestern Province, Zambia.
Position Overview: Engineering Surveyor Role
The Engineering Surveyor will play a pivotal role in delivering technical surveying services across all Lot works. This position demands meticulous attention to detail in setting out, control transfer, volume measurement, and ensuring compliance with strict construction tolerances. The incumbent will contribute significantly to the accuracy and quality of road alignment, earthworks, and structural components throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities for Engineering Surveyor Jobs in Kasempa
- Perform precise setting out for all Lot works, including road alignment, culverts, structures, toll plaza, and weighbridge platforms
- Maintain secondary control networks to guarantee survey accuracy
- Conduct layer level conformance surveys in accordance with Appendix 6 D.4 tolerances
- Carry out volume surveys for record-keeping and measurement verification
- Capture as-built data and prepare comprehensive reports
- Provide daily setting-out support to foreman teams on site
Qualifications and Experience Required
- BSc degree in Geomatics, Land Surveying, Engineering Surveying, or an equivalent qualification
- Alternatively, a TEVETA Diploma with a minimum of 15 years relevant experience is acceptable
- At least 10 years of engineering survey experience specifically on road construction projects
- Demonstrated expertise in control transfer, road alignment setting out, and earthworks volume and layer level control
- Proficient use of total station and GNSS rover equipment
- Experience with GPS machine-control systems is advantageous
- Valid manual driver’s licence is mandatory
Statutory and Compliance Requirements
- Mandatory registration with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) as per the Engineering Institution of Zambia Act for engineers, technologists, or technicians
- Pre-employment medical fitness certification required due to remote site conditions
- Submission of certified copies of qualifications and proof of professional registration
- Provision of at least two contactable work references
- Qualification verification will be conducted by the Consultant prior to shortlisting

Location and Contract Details
This is a residential position based at a remote site camp in Kasempa District, Northwestern Province, Zambia. Accommodation will be provided on site. The rotation and leave cycle will be agreed upon according to the grade of the position.
The role is offered on a fixed-term contract aligned with the construction programme, extending until December 2029. A probation period will apply in line with the Employment Code Act No. 3 of 2019.
