Position Overview

As an Engineer Intern, you will provide vital support to the Technical and Engineering Department by assisting with on-site supervision, preparing project documentation, and contributing to engineering design tasks. Your role will help ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities for Engineer Intern Jobs in Lusaka

• Assist engineers in monitoring and supervising ongoing construction works on site.
• Take accurate site measurements and levels; prepare detailed daily site reports and diaries.
• Support the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material schedules, and progress reports.
• Conduct basic materials testing and quality control activities under supervision.
• Help draft and interpret engineering drawings using AutoCAD software.
• Participate in data collection, surveys, and as-built documentation processes.
• Ensure strict adherence to site safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Engineer or Manager.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be a Zambian citizen.
• Recent graduate with a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field from a recognized institution.
• Achieved a minimum grade of Credit or 60% average in your degree program.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Project.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Student membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is an advantage.
• Knowledgeable about construction materials, site practices, and safety standards.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work on and reside at project sites as required.
