About the Electrician Role

The primary purpose of this position is to provide specialized electrical artisan skills to support shift teams in the operation and maintenance of packaging equipment. You will play a critical role in troubleshooting, performing routine and opportunity maintenance, and ensuring the smooth running of machinery to meet production targets. Your expertise will help drive continuous improvement in machine performance and plant efficiency.

Key Responsibilities for Electrician Jobs in Ndola

• Participate actively in maintenance planning meetings, offering suggestions and clarifying tasks.
• Execute maintenance work according to schedules, including routine, planned, and opportunity maintenance windows.
• Communicate promptly with the Maintenance Planner if scheduled work cannot be completed, assisting in rescheduling or prioritizing tasks.
• Support colleagues during maintenance activities and assist with problem resolution as needed.
• Complete all required administrative tasks and COSWIN system updates related to maintenance and repairs.
• Engage in post-maintenance reviews to provide feedback on issues, opportunities, and lessons learned.
• Perform cleaning, lubrication, inspections, and autonomous operations following maintenance schedules.
• Analyze machine performance, conduct loss and waste analyses, and develop action plans to enhance efficiency.
• Provide technical support and guidance to shift teams on machine operation and fault diagnosis.
• Coach and mentor operators and artisans, facilitating knowledge transfer and skills development.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols, identify unsafe work practices, and promote a safe working environment.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and apply 5S principles consistently during all tasks.
• Perform standby duties as per roster requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Trade Tested N3 Electrical qualification.
• Certified Electrical Artisan with trade testing completed.
• Minimum of 2-3 months on-the-job training; ideally 3-6 months.
• 1-2 years of experience as an Electrical Artisan in a similar industry.
• Electrical trade qualification combined with Control & Automation (C&A) skills is advantageous.
