About the Electrician Role

As an Electrician at Thorntree River Lodge, you will play a vital role in maintaining the camp’s electrical infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Head of Maintenance, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems and equipment throughout the property.

Key Responsibilities for Electrician Jobs in Livingstone

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment across the camp.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability.
  • Diagnose and promptly resolve electrical faults to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics accurately.
  • Monitor critical installations including the generator set, electric fence, geysers, and radios to maintain operational readiness.
  • Perform daily maintenance duties and follow up on tasks as directed by the Head of Maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Full Grade 12 certificate.
  • Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in electrical maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams.
  • Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is essential.
