Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the electrical systems and machinery operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities for Electrician Jobs in Kitwe

• Perform daily maintenance on electrical distribution systems and machinery within the process plant and auxiliary circuits.
• Carry out installation, repair, replacement, testing, and troubleshooting of transformers, substations, switches, power circuit breakers, metal-clad switchgear, cables, protective relays, and control circuits at voltage levels of 33kV, 11kV, and 525V.
• Use various testing instruments to calculate load requirements and diagnose electrical faults, restoring equipment to optimal operating condition.
• Interpret electrical diagrams and work from drawings to install and test ABB and Siemens protective relays.
• Conduct diagnostics on transformers, motors, cables, Siemens MCCs, ABB switchgear, and UPS systems.
• Locate underground cables using specialized techniques and equipment.
• Install, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot standby generators.
• Ensure maintenance compliance targets are met cost-effectively and maintain accurate records of repairs and equipment status.
• Execute planned and unplanned electrical work as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Minimum Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
• Valid Zambian driver’s license with demonstrated ability to drive light vehicles.
• Membership in the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) is required.
