The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all electrical operations across the plant, ensuring compliance with national and international standards. This contract position demands a proactive leader who can manage design, installation, and maintenance activities while promoting health and safety standards throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant equipment.
• Ensure compliance with electrical standards and international codes to maintain regulatory adherence.
• Champion Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices, including proper PPE usage and safe work protocols.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Conduct risk assessments to enhance system reliability and operational safety.
• Monitor and optimize electrical power usage to improve plant performance.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation and coordinate with suppliers and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of six years’ experience in power generation or heavy industry environments.
• In-depth knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, high voltage (HV) systems, and switchgear.
• Membership with the Engineers Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is mandatory.
