About the Role: Electrical Coordinator Jobs in Solwezi
The Coordinator, Electrical will be responsible for safely executing electrical maintenance and installation tasks in compliance with prescribed standards and statutory requirements. This full-time position involves managing the day-to-day operations of the Electrical Section to ensure efficient, safe production and adherence to company policies and legal regulations related to health, safety, environment, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct electrical maintenance and installation activities to meet safety and quality standards.
- Install new electrical systems and replace faulty or outdated equipment following company and vendor specifications.
- Ensure all electrical safety settings and hardware interlocks are correctly configured and documented.
- Adhere to planned and preventive maintenance schedules to minimize production downtime.
- Oversee subordinate staff to complete scheduled electrical maintenance tasks effectively.
- Compile detailed reports on activities, labor, costs, and plans; report incidents promptly to the Superintendent.
- Maintain safety logbooks in accordance with company procedures.
- Manage stock levels of electrical equipment in the warehouse and create new stock for critical items.
- Supervise the safe use and control of hand tools and electrical test equipment within the section.
- Coordinate and schedule necessary training to ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements.
- Manage transport resources under your control, ensuring all operators have valid permits.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Electrical Superintendent.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Grade 12 Certificate.
- Electrical Craft Certificate.
- Membership or registration with the Electrical Institute of Zambia (EIZ) and the Energy Regulation Board (ERB).
- Valid Light Vehicle (LV) Driver’s License.
- All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
