This opportunity focuses on supporting education systems in the Eastern and Southern Province of Zambia through the ongoing implementation of the VVOB Zambia Catch Up projects. The role involves collaboration with Ministry of Education officials at national, provincial, and district levels to promote sustainable education improvements and strengthen programme delivery at school level.

About the Role: Education Advisor Jobs in Eastern and Southern Province Zambia

As an Education Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in co-designing, coordinating, and maintaining strategies that foster strong partnerships with Ministry of Education staff and other stakeholders. Your efforts will support the implementation, monitoring, and scaling of the Catch Up project, aiming to improve foundational literacy and numeracy outcomes. This position also offers involvement in innovation hub activities, contributing to the development of proposals and sharing lessons learned through collaborative learning cycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain effective working relationships with Ministry of Education officials and partners at all levels to support Catch Up project goals.
• Contribute to the sustainability deliverables of the Catch Up initiative within VVOB Zambia.
• Support and potentially oversee the quality and delivery of innovation hub activities.
• Assist in developing innovation proposals informed by field experience and expertise.
• Engage actively in learning processes, documenting lessons learned and participating in joint reflection and adaptation planning.
• Stay informed on education policy trends, research developments, and international best practices to inform programme implementation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, with a minimum of five years relevant professional experience; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
• At least three years of experience working in the international development sector.
• Demonstrated expertise in Catch Up and/or Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) programmes.
• Experience working with Innovation Hubs or Learning Labs is a plus.
• Proven ability to design and implement professional development pathways for educators, school leaders, and education officials.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Outlook) and social media tools.
• Excellent English communication skills, including writing, speaking, and presenting.
• Strong knowledge of the Zambian education system and experience working in multicultural teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for short periods (approximately one week per month).
